Brentford Goalkeeper Luke Daniels Quizzed By Participants In BFCCST Short Breaks Project

As Brentford football club’s progress in the championship remains in stasis due to CV 19, the club’s  affiliated Community Sports Trust has stepped up activities. Proactive engagements include a sports journalism competition, the hula hoop challenge, inside football coaching, audio impaired sport as well as the Friday 2.6 charity challenge, and,  #Bee at home (in collaboration with the English Football League Trust).

The CST team including Ghausia Amin and Helen McCartan, has worked tirelessly to reach out to local schools and groups, including the vulnerable and underprivileged families. Messaging is both activity and education based, and, most importantly, incorporates a good sense of fun and humour.

Luke Daniel’s zoom discussion with some special needs kids as part of the ‘Short Breaks’ programme demonstrated the value of open and honest communication. The rigours of working as a professional goalkeeper were superseded by more pressing issues such as, his favourite Disney Princess and what he actually likes about football?’

Chiswickbuzz and Brentford FC Community Sports Trust are working in partnership to help and support all local people through the lockdown period.
