Chiswick Book Festival 2018 launched at Chiswick House with a fascinating discussion about local author William Thackeray and his first novel, Vanity Fair. We talk to Thackeray scholar Professor John Sutherland, the writer of the ITV series Gwyneth Hughes, and actress Claudia Jessie who plays Amelia Sedley. Sponsored by The Arts Society Chiswick and Bown Design & Build (the Thackeray Writers Timeline Exhibition), the packed event was a huge success and a fitting launch to the literary weekend.
