A large crowd joined veterans of the second world war, cadets from the armed services, MP Mary Macleod and representatives from the police and Hounslow Council in remembering those from Chiswick who gave their lives during past and recent conflicts. In a moving service conducted by Revd. Richard Moy with Canon Anthony Dwyer, wreaths were laid at the foot of the war memorial on Turnham Green.
