Climax and Chronostasis

Climax and Chronostasis

Two exciting live shows from leading French multimedia artists, brought to the UK for the first time, exploring notions of DESIRE and TIME in an explosion of pixels.

CliMax is an interactive dance performance – an encounter between a human female and an artificial creature programmed to feel pleasure.  In mutual ecstasy, these two organisms, one immaterial and one of flesh, inspire each other in an orgasmic spiral,  exploring movements and intensities of pleasure beyond the human.

In an experience of mutual possession, this beautiful show where dance is woven with projections asks questions – who has the power of desire? Can a body make a creature of pixels come to climax? How can this digital matter generate delight and experience desire?

Time is elastic – this is the statement that Chronostasis aims to create as an experience in this audiovisual performance. The explosion of pixels represent the different perceptions of time – its stretchings and inversions – through different visual and sound effects such as slow-motion, fast motion, repeated real-time, backward playing, chords aggregates and dissociates phasings, bendings up and down, and other micro harmonic variations. The present moment freezes and diffracts endlessly – past and future cease to exist.

A double bill that will refresh and excite and which has toured the world, including to the Centre Georges Pompidou and the Mapping festival in Geneva.
