Written Word, Spoken Lyric: Writing Workshops at the Museum

‘Brentford is a town with plenty of history and plenty of people who really value the place and its history, diversity and artistic heritage. It is a place with a soul. There are enormous changes happening in Brentford in the form of big developments and thousands of new residents will be arriving over the next few years.

We hope that many will be interested in the story of the ancient town they have moved to and hear about the lives and experiences of people already here’.

The project invites local Brentford residents – or those who have a connection to Brentford – to participate in a ten-part creative writing workshop programme.

The programme will consist of ten sessions run on a weekly basis, commencing Tuesday 17 March 2020. Sessions will then run on consecutive Tuesdays, all from 7-9pm. Sessions are to held at The London Museum of Water & Steam (Brentford). The programme consists of eight regular workshop sessions led by award winning playwright and  workshop facilitator Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu, an ‘Inspiration Session’, where guest speakers will talk about their own experience and processes and a final showcase event.

This project developed by Creative People & Places Hounslow’s Brentford Local Advisory Group, a group that works collaboratively with Creative People & Places Hounslow to empower the local community, provide skills and learning opportunities. It is part funded by the Greater London Authority’s Culture seeds programme.
