Memories Of VE Day In Chiswick

James Long was born in 1940. Ha is parents had a house in Oxford Road North. James recalls being brought up in Chiswick during the blitz and seeing the V2’s flying overhead.

VE day was a special day for James and his family. He and his family travelled to central London and spend the day at the foot of the Victoria Memorial, waiting for the King to appear on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
