Planning to conceive? Make a difference by helping with a major new clinical study into pre-eclampsia. Dr Lin Foo and Mr Christoph Lees tell us about the Imperial College London ‘CONCEIVE’ study taking place at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital.

The team at Queen Charlottes are looking to recruit 600 local women from the West London and Chiswick areas who are planning to try to get pregnant over the next two years to take part in some critical research into what causes pre-eclampsia (high blood pressure in pregnancy) in mothers-to-be. We learn about what the study involves, how the tests are non-invasive and how every woman who falls pregnant on the Study will benefit from four scans with a state-of-the-art new 3D and 4D video scanning machine as well as have access to ground-breaking heart monitoring equipment specially on loan from Italy.
