Two hundred and fifty tiny lifeboats raced the last mile of the BNY Mellon London Boat Race course in a brilliant fund-raising spectacle organised by Chiswick RNLI.  Supported by broadcaster, rower and adventurer Hannah White and Chiswick based street artist, Slinkachu, the race drew a large crowd to the Thames path.

The Alternative Boat Race, which was held for the second year running, was staged as a fund-raising event with each of the small boats being sponsored for £250 in aid of the RNLI.  Chiswick is the second busiest lifeboat station in the country – the busiest being Tower station, just down the river.
