The recent announcement by the Council to close Devonshire Rd, Turnham Green Terrace and Fishers Lane to traffic has caused widespread consternation. For many shop owners the closures have led to anger and despair. We visited traders on Devonshire Road to better understand the proposals and the potential effects.
Many Chiswick business people are struggling to recover from the fallout of COVID19. Locals argue that the impact of the proposed measures will lead to the demise of numerous independent boutique shops. This, in turn, could  change the look and feel of Chiswick for good.
