A few weeks after interviewing World War Two Heroine Danuta Szlachetko her son George Szlachteko gave a talk at Waterstones in Chiswick about the book he has written, ‘Wira Of Warsaw’ chronicling his Mother’s extraordinary life as a Freedom Fighter and female POW. Danuta herself also attended the talk and participated in a Q&A session at the end. Danuta’s grand daughter Emma also gave some moving readings from this compelling and fascinating insight into one woman’s survival against extreme odds.
