A popular feature of the Chiswick Book Festival is the Children’s Festival, entertaining youngsters and parents alike. This year it opened in style, with a talk from former Children’s Laureate Dame Jacqueline Wilson, creator of characters such as the feisty Tracy Beaker and the irrepressible Hetty Feather. Jacqueline described how her writing career developed from a young age and provided the audience with a sneak preview of her latest book, Clover Moon.

Chiswickbuzz were able to speak to Jacqueline on the night, as well as the Chair for the evening, BBC Arts Correspondent Rebecca Jones. Jacqueline’s full talk is below.
