The Park Club staged an awe-inspiring white collar boxing match in aid of the Russ Dawkins Back on Track Charity. Featuring local amateur male and female boxers, this was the first of the Parx Boxing tournaments and was widely heralded as a huge success. Sponsored by Orchards of London and supported by leading figures from the field of broadcasting and sport, the event attracted over a thousand people who thronged to the dome at the Park Club to cheer on the boxers and to support the charity.
