Turmeric is a fantastic ingredient. Its been used for thousands of years in East Asia. It has anti-inflammatory components which reduce swelling, inflammation, and acne. If you feel like your coming down with a cold, or unfortunately have one already here is the remedy:

Mix 1tsp of turmeric powder with warm water, add a little honey for sweetness and drink. It will soothe a sore throat, and will help build up your immune system.

If you have a sprain or external swelling mix turmeric powder with water, and add a little salt, mix into a paste. Warm in the microwave for 1 minute and add to the bruise or sprain. Cover with a loose bandage and repeat for 3 days. 

For the above, always test a small amount of turmeric of your skin to check for allergies. If you do notice any rash do not use.
